| Rood Technology and ZMD to Sign Exclusive Production Test Contract Rood Technology, a leading independent service provider for the electronics industry, and ZMD, a leading provider of application specific integrated circuits for sensor and wireless applications, announced today that they have signed an exclusive production test contract. After more than 10 years of business partnership, ZMD and Rood Technology agreed to extend their cooperation towards a strategic partnership for “Value-Added-Test-Services” The contract covers wafer probing and related production steps as well as engineering services, like test time reduction, yield analyses and extension to parallel test. Two product families for Wireless Communication and Bus Controller ICs are included with a load of up to 2 ½ test cells for a period of 2 years. Annual sales for Rood Technology, related to this contract, is anticipated to an amount of 1 Million EURO. “Our partnership with Rood Technology is about ensuring ZMD’s fast growing demand in production test,” said Konrad Herre, COO of ZMD. “It allows us to further extending our focus on our core competence areas which include a 10-years-experience in customer process transfer, yield improvement and failure analysis support.” “Rood Technology has proven to being a reliable partner by providing excellent and consistent quality and engineering support over the last 10 years,” said Wolfgang Wagner, CEO of Rood Technology. “It was, therefore, natural step to further extending our cooperation towards a strategic partnership.” Besides the new business contract with ZMD, Rood Technology also signed a sponsorship agreement with Silicon Saxony – a the leading European cluster of semiconductor companies where ZMD is one of the key members. This partnership provides Rood Technology direct access to one of the leading networks of semiconductor companies in the world.
